Lorna Jones, LAC

Philosophy

Lorna believes every person has the capacity to heal, grow, and create meaningful change. Life’s challenges can sometimes leave people feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves and those they care about. She views therapy as a space to slow down, better understand those experiences, and begin moving toward a life that feels more connected and fulfilling.

Her approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in authenticity. Lorna strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and supported. Together, she and her clients explore the experiences, beliefs, and patterns that may be getting in the way while developing practical tools for greater resilience, emotional well-being, and healthier relationships.

Recognizing that every person’s story is unique, Lorna tailors therapy to each client’s individual strengths, needs, values, and goals. Her approach integrates evidence-based, relationship-focused practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), along with mindfulness and body-based techniques. This allows her to support clients in better understanding themselves, navigating difficult emotions, and creating healthier patterns in their lives and relationships.

Experience

Lorna works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, and substance use recovery. She especially enjoys helping clients strengthen communication, deepen their relationships, process difficult emotions, and develop practical tools for approaching life’s challenges with greater confidence.

Before entering private practice, Lorna worked extensively with adolescents and families in educational settings, providing counseling and crisis intervention to students experiencing academic stress, family conflict, mental health concerns, and significant life transitions. These experiences strengthened her understanding of the ways relationships, environments, and life experiences can shape emotional well-being.

Whether working with an individual, couple, or family, Lorna focuses on building a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel understood, supported, and compassionately challenged as they work toward meaningful and lasting change.

Credentials

Lorna is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in the State of Arizona and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) and is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA).

She is committed to continued professional growth and providing ethical, evidence-based care while honoring the unique needs and experiences of each client.

Personal Life

Outside of the therapy office, Lorna values faith, family, personal growth, and living with purpose and authenticity. She believes emotional well-being is nurtured not only through therapy, but also through meaningful relationships, self-reflection, and caring for ourselves emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Clients often describe Lorna as warm, genuine, compassionate, and easy to talk to. She considers it a privilege to walk alongside people as they navigate difficult seasons, recognize their strengths, and build lives and relationships that feel more connected, authentic, and meaningful.
