Meet Our Team

Hannah Scovil, LAC

"You are more than the role you learned to play."

Philosophy & Approach

Have you ever looked at a pile of scattered LEGOs and thought, “Those are broken”? Probably not. You see individual pieces—maybe disconnected or unclear at first—but still full of possibility. Hannah believes people deserve to be approached the same way.

Many of us learn roles early in life: the fixer, peacekeeper, achiever, caretaker, invisible one, or even the “problem.” Those roles may have helped us navigate difficult relationships or family systems, but they can eventually leave people feeling stuck, disconnected, or repeating patterns they promised themselves they would never repeat.

Hannah’s approach to therapy goes beyond simply managing symptoms. Together, she helps clients get curious about the pieces—their story, relationships, emotions, beliefs, behaviors, nervous system, values, and the roles they learned along the way. From there, she works with clients to understand the roots of patterns, heal what continues to hurt, and intentionally decide what they want to carry forward and what ends with them.

Her style is collaborative, attuned, and authentically direct—with sprinkles of raw humor. She offers compassion while also being willing to challenge clients to look at things from a different angle. Her goal isn’t to tell people who to be, but to help them understand themselves deeply enough to live with greater freedom, intentionality, and authenticity.

Areas of Focus

Hannah works with children, teens, adults, and couples, with particular interest in:

*Trauma and relational wounds
*Dysfunctional family systems
*Generational patterns and learned family roles
*Relationship and attachment difficulties
*Couples experiencing conflict or disconnection
*Foster care, adoption, and child-welfare experiences
*Military members, veterans, couples, and families

In couples therapy, Hannah focuses less on determining who is “wrong” and more on understanding what is happening underneath the conflict. She helps couples recognize the patterns keeping them disconnected while encouraging both partners to embrace ownership, growth, and deeper connection.

Experience & Background

Hannah’s background has given her a particular understanding of two communities that can come with experiences and challenges all their own: child welfare and military life. She welcomes individuals who have personally experienced the child-welfare system, foster and adoptive families, and professionals working within that network.

As a military veteran, Hannah also has a special interest in working with service members, veterans, military couples, and families and understanding the unique demands military experiences can place on individuals and relationships.

Faith in Therapy

For clients who desire it, Christian faith can be intentionally integrated into therapy. This can create space to wrestle honestly with questions of truth, grace, identity, responsibility, relationships, forgiveness, and what it means to live in alignment with personal convictions. Faith integration is always guided by the client’s preferences and goals.

At the heart of Hannah’s work is a simple belief: scattered LEGOs aren’t broken. They’re pieces with possibility. Feeling broken or hurt can be a challenge to overcome—not a life sentence. Breaking generational patterns, stepping outside assigned roles, and choosing what gets built next takes courage.

That choice is yours, and it happens on your time. When you’re ready, let’s battle it together.
