“We cannot become what we want by remaining what we are.” – Max Depnee
Philosophy
Janna is deeply committed to helping individuals and couples better understand themselves and their relationships. She believes in the power of meaningful connections and the transformative role that counseling can play in strengthening and sustaining these bonds. Recognizing that turning to loved ones for emotional support can be challenging, Janna emphasizes the importance of learning to communicate feelings and desires effectively in order to deepen relationships. She is passionate about creating a safe, open, and non-judgmental space for couples, families, and individuals seeking to improve themselves and their connections with others.
Experience
Janna has extensive experience working with couples navigating infidelity and addictions,
having supported many clients in addressing the emotional complexities of betrayal trauma. She is particularly dedicated to helping women and couples heal from the effects of partner betrayal and find pathways toward recovery and reconciliation. With years of experience in this area, Janna strives to provide compassionate, empathetic care to those facing these difficult challenges.
Credentials
Janna holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University, which
she earned in 2022. She also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies from Brigham
Young University in 2020, completing her degree after dedicating 25 years to raising her family.
Janna is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy and is working toward certification. Janna has also attended training in sex therapy and addictions through the EFT lense. Janna has completed training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) which is a brief, structured form of psychotherapy that helps people process distressing memories and symptoms by changing how those memories are stored in the brain.
Personal Life
Janna’s personal journey has uniquely equipped her for her role as a therapist. After raising five children and being married to her best friend since 1993, she brings a wealth of real-life
experience to her work. Her roles as a mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend have provided
invaluable insights into the dynamics of relationships.
Outside of work, Janna enjoys traveling the world—she has visited 21 countries, including standing on the Great Wall of China—and is an avid baker, known for her delicious cinnamon rolls. She also loves reading historical fiction, playing games, gardening, watching movies, and spending quality time with loved ones. Above all, Janna finds her greatest joy in family and grandparenting, cherishing deep connections, creating lasting memories, and working through challenges together.
