Anna Higgins, Intern
Queen Creek Office & Online
Philosophy
Anna is passionate about walking with people as they work through life’s challenges. For her, creating a safe environment for clients as they go through life’s ups and downs, and navigate their personal mental health and their relationships, is key! She believes that true healing comes from vulnerability, openness and honesty, and knows that therapy can be the safe and supportive space where that healing can occur.
Emphasis
Anna works with teens, young adults and adults. She takes a client-focused and trauma-informed approach, and works with a variety of challenges including life transitions, anxiety, depression, stress-management, self-esteem issues, relational difficulties, coping-skills development, and personal growth.
Credentials
We are excited to welcome Anna as a clinical intern here at East Valley Family Therapy, and she will be under the supervision of Jonathan Harrop. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychological Sciences from Northern Arizona University. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Grand Canyon University and will complete her degree in July 2025.
Personal Life
Anna loves to be outside. She can often be found taking a hike or walk – just not when it’s 110 degrees outside! She also loves to play music: whether it’s her violin, guitar or ukulele. She’s been married to her best friend since 2021 and is so glad to have him along for the adventures of life. Together, they love to travel, especially if it’s to Disneyland!
